FOR AND AGAINST ESSAYS
For and against essays show both sides of an issue clearly. You present the issue in paragraph 1. Then you state the arguments supporting each view (advantages and disadvantages) in paragraphs 2 and 3. In the concluding paragraph (4) you can summarize the topic and give your opinion supporting one of the views.

when they begin secondary education in a new school next September.

AUTUMN TIME
Autumn is finally here and we are working on this woonderful season with plenty of different activities: vocabulary, poems, songs, projects and presentations.
Today students in 1ESO A presented their projects to Manny, our teacher from Texas. They did great and we have all learnt a lot about autumn, harvesting time, Halloween, Guy Fawkes, Thanksgiving Day and other traditions this time of the year.The students in PMAR 1 have also made a nice poster to welcome the new season. They are studying new words and learning autumn poems.
Class rules
Students in 1A ESO wrote some class rules to be respected. They stuck all the rules on the walls of the class to remember the way we have to behave.

Students in 1A ESO introduced themselves in class today. They presented their own profiles to their classmates. They've learnt a lot of new things about their peers. It was fun and enriching!!
GUIDED TOUR IN PLASENCIA
Last April 25th some students of 4th ESO enjoyed a guided tour in English in the historic town centre of Plasencia. They discovered new places, facts and monuments. At the same time, they learned new vocabulary related to art and history. The whole visit was in English so the students could practice their oral skills. We thank the Tourism Department of Plasencia for this idea. Now when these students find foreign tourists in our town, they will surely have many things to say and, of course, in English!

Preparing Earth Day: a whole project
We have started working on environmental aspects that are worrying nowadays. Students in 2nd A have made a wonderful mural and developed projects with tips to fight pollution and environmental damage.

Presentations about English speaking countries
The students of 3C have been working on the culture of done English speaking countries and have done excellent presentationsabout the UK, the Republic of Ireland, USA or Australia. They were a bit nervous because they had to speak in English before their classmates. It was really challenging for them but they did GREAT!!!
Celebrating Christmas
Christmas is a perfect time to feel the joy and warmth of friends. The students of 4A and 4C sang carols together to say goodbye to an intense term and welcome Christmas holidays. We are especially grateful to Alonso who played the bassoon. The rest did quite well with their voices and tambourines!!! Merry Christmas to you all!! Enjoy the carol!!
Snowflakes
We are all unique as snowflakes and so we have been learning adjectives
to describe ourselves and see how different and special we are. Some of
us are shy, charming or sweet, others are outgoing, friendly,
determined, corageous... This is great!
The students cut out beautiful snowflakes and wrote adjectives to describe themselves and their classmates on them. It was an enriching and fun activity!!!
Lucy, we missed you so much!!
Playing Scrabble
We have been playing Scrabble in class!! We had to make up words with the letters given and use them in perfectly correct sentences to get the points. It was a tough game and a surprising victory of Team C. We had fun and learnt some new things!
And the winners are... Celia, Isabel, Sara and David!!
Last Christmas activities
Last Christmas activities were great. We learnt and had fun. You can have a look at one of the videos we made. Lucía, Carla, Miriam, Carol and Paula chose this carol to sing and wish everyone wonderful holidays.We hope you like it. We had to practise once and again for a whole week! It was hard work but it was worth the effort. They really enjoyed doing it!
